The Most Important thing for a Christian
It’s very easy to get caught up in many things that we think are
what God wants us to do, like going to church or singing
hymns, or even doing evangelism in the streets, and overlook
the most important thing which is practicing love thy neighbor,
love thy enemy, pray for them.
Nothing else matters if you do not know about love, Christians
should be experts in love, just like Jesus and Paul and Peter.
What good is it for you to know all the bible if you have not understood the most important
thing Jesus wants of you.
1 Corinthians 13;1-3
13;1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Galatians 5;22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Mathew 5;38-48
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[h] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Matthew 7:21–23
I Never Knew You
21 Not everyone who says to me,‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one
who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not
prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in
your name?’
23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of
lawlessness.’
So don’t forget it’s all about how much you love, and Jesus is not talking about the love you
have for your family but true spiritual love that comes from God.
