How to read the Bible
The first thing you need to really receive the teachings of the bible is HONESTY.
To be honest with yourself sometimes is very difficult because you will find things in the bible that will contradict the teachings of the denomination you belong to , so what happens is that a lot of Christians prefer to look the other way and pretend that the verses do not exist , or they say well that can not be ,it must mean something else.
You have to be honest with yourself and read the bible guided only by God .
Some people mistake the denomination with God , it’s like if they contradict the denomination teachings they think they are going against God.
Every church and denomination goes trough the same transformation and end up preaching something very different than what Jesus preached.
Here’s an example
Luke 21:14-17
14 Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand what ye shall answer.
15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
This is also what Jesus did with his father , and he says it in John 17;16
18 As Thou hast sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
That is why when Jesus said it’s not me saying this things or doing this miracles but my father that is in me , he was saying that it was his father talking not him , in the same manner that he told his disciples not to think what to say , but that he would put the words in their mouth , so it was actually Jesus talking , but the disciples were not actually Jesus but only a vehicle of the word.
That is why there are so many versus that Jesus says he is not God but the son of God.
If you read the words of Jesus from the bible out loud , it is not you talking but Jesus ,
That was the intention of Jesus ,that his words be brought to life by everybody that believed in him , in some very special and rare cases he would actually take over the mind of a person and literally talk trough that person. The same happens with miracles , it is not the person but Jesus trough the person , without any theatrical and shouting , but in silence and with love.
